ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Dr. Rudo Nyamapfumba and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Austin, Texas. I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and my passion for working in the helping profession was greatly shaped by my upbringing. I hold a Bachelors of Arts Degree, a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Doctorate Degree in Social Work.
EXPERIENCE
My experience within the field varies from in-patient psychiatry, juvenile case management, oncology social work, skilled nursing and long-term care, hospital social work and hospice and palliative care (end-of-life). I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, coping and social skills, post traumatic experiences, adjustment to major life events and grief and loss. I also have experience working couples as well as families especially those with children with behavioral challenges.
APPROACH
I am a strong believer in meeting the client where they are. We all experience circumstances differently and my goal is to make sure your specific needs are met. I utilize different therapeutic approaches including:
